Surround yourself with great designers, collaborate with everyone, be vulnerable and lean on those who you know will elevate the weakest parts of your skillset and you’ll all flourish together.

The method

We created a survey with 28 questions, including 3 open-ended ones, and distributed it across our communication channels: website, social media and newsletters. In total, 370+ designers across different industries left their thoughts on design collaboration.

Our average respondent lives in Europe, works on a contract/freelance basis, collaborates within a team of 2-10 people and revolves around marketing and advertising. We’ve counted and analyzed all of the responses, handpicked revealing thoughts and asked seasoned pros for their comments.

How you can use this data

Our survey findings can be useful for solo designers, members of design teams and creative executives. You can use them as a reference to analyze your collaboration skills and patterns, assess and base team workflow, find existing and potential bottlenecks and improve the quality of teamwork.
