1.8 recipient:

shall mean a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or another body, to which the personal data are disclosed, whether a third party or not. However, public authorities which may receive personal data in the framework of a particular inquiry in accordance with European Union or Member State law shall not be regarded as recipients; the processing of those data by those public authorities shall be in compliance with the applicable data protection rules according to the purposes of the processing;

shall mean one or more independent public authorities provided by each Member State which is responsible for monitoring the application of the GDPR in order to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons in relation to processing and to facilitate the free flow of personal data within the European Union;


1.10 supervisory authority concerned:

shall mean a supervisory authority which is concerned by the processing of personal data because: (i) the controller or processor is established on the territory of the Member State of that supervisory authority; (ii) data subjects residing in the Member State of that supervisory authority are substantially affected or likely to be substantially affected by the processing; or (iii) a complaint has been lodged with that supervisory authority.


As stated above, Readymag is the data controller of any data which constitutes personal data of our users and is uploaded and collected when subscribing for the Newsletter and the order initiated on the Website.

2. What information does Readymag collect?

The information we gather from users enables Readymag to allow our users (i) to set up accounts on the Website, (ii) to use the Services, allow us (iii) to communicate with the users, (iv) to advertise and personalize the marketing opportunities we provide to the users and (v) to improve our Services and create new features and products. We collect the following types of information from our users:


2.1 Information you provide to us on the Website:


We receive and store any information you enter on our Website during your registration either by using your Facebook or Google account or either register by giving your name and your email address. The type and amount of information we receive during your registration by using your Facebook or Google account depends on your Facebook or Google privacy settings. Please read the privacy policies of Facebook and Google before using them to register account at Readymag. We also receive and store information you provide to us in any other way using the Services. The types of information collected include, without limitation, your full name, mailing address (including, without limitation, state, province, postal code), email address, phone number, place of work and profile picture.


Furthermore, we collect your financial data such as: account holder name, the last four digits of the payment card and its expiration date.


A user who applies for a discount provided to students and teachers of educational institutions, might be subject to verification procedures, involving collection of personal data (included, but not limited to copy of student ID, or similar document confirming his/her status and/or photo depicting the applicant and his/her student ID or similar document confirming his/her status).


We collect also your newsletter preferences.


From time to time Readymag asks you to tell your opinion on the Website and Services and give us feedback on our certain solutions or highlight technical malfunction by sending email to the Readymag support team (support@readymag.com or hello@readymag.com or lisa@readymag.com). We collect any communication history too.


2.2 Information collected automatically:


We automatically receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Website and the Services.


When you visit our Website, Readymag automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including, but not limited to: your IP address, web pages visited before coming to the Website, specification of your browser (type, version), device’s operating system, internet service provider, language and other regional settings, actions taken on our Website (clicks, scrolling, browsing times, timestamps, load times, searches, transactions, referral pages and problems you may encounter, such as loading or publishing errors). We may also receive your location, but this information is anonymized, therefore it can not be related to you.


We receive information furthermore from our marketing and advertising partners (such as Newsletter partners), when you open the Newsletter and click on advertisements.

3. What about cookies?

We collect anonymous data from the Website, such as searches. The anonymized data can include user session data such as IP address, web browser type, the time spent on the page by the user, and user-clicked buttons. The “cookie” alone can’t be used to reveal the identity of the visitor. The “cookie” is a file, which is sent to the browser of the visitor and stored on the hard drive of the visitor. 4.2 We process the following personal information based on your consent (as the legal basis of this processing) for marketing purposes and to send Newsletters and e-mails. 6.2 We store personal information about you on our servers in the US. All of them rely on either Standard Contractual Clauses of Binding Corporate Rules for the transfer of data from EU/EEA to US.


This way, if we transfer personal data collected from individuals located within the EU to a third-party acting as a data processor, such third-party agent processes your personal information in a manner consistent with the GDPR.


6.3 Readymag may release your information:


  1. in response to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, to the extent permitted and as restricted by law;
  2. when disclosure is required to maintain the security and integrity of the Website, or to protect any user’s security or the security of other persons, consistent with applicable laws;

We generally endeavor to erase user information from our database at regular intervals but we cannot guarantee that your information has been or will be deleted immediately. We take no responsibility for stored information in a cache, or in other devices that may store information, and disclaim all liability of such.

14.1 Readymag users who have created projects at the Website are fully responsible for what personal information they collect – either directly or through Readymag – from the visitors of the created website, customers, subscribers, readers and any other users of the created project (hereinafter: “End User”) and how they use it.


14.2 Our users may collect personal information about End Users; for example, collecting visitors’ names, emails, payment data and other information. You may also use cookies or similar technologies to analyze usage.


14.3 Please note that you are solely responsible for complying with laws and regulations applying to your collection, use, and retention of End Users’ information. This includes personal information about End Users collected from us, Readymag, or via Readymag Services or cookies or similar technologies. Make sure you have published your own privacy and cookie policies and comply with them.


14.4 Collecting End User personal information under the material and territorial scope of the GDPR


If the provisions of the GDPR shall apply to your collection of personal information, you shall be deemed as data controller, and therefore you are responsible to comply with the provisions of the GDPR. If you collect personal information by using the Services, such personal information will be transmitted by Readymag, therefore Readymag, under the provisions of the GDPR, shall be deemed as a data processor. Please note, that in such case the data processing relationship between the data controller and the data processor shall be governed by a written contract, and such written contract shall satisfy the requirements of Article 28 of the GDPR. In order to facilitate your compliance with the provisions of the GDPR, Readymag provides you a written contract on data processing, therefore, the data processing relationship between you, as a data controller and Readymag, as a data processor shall be governed by the Readymag data processing addendum and this addendum shall form an integral part of the Terms of Service of Readymag. 15. CCPA notice

This Privacy Notice for California Residents (this "Notice") supplements the information contained in the Privacy Policy of Readymag, Inc. (the "Company") and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("User" or "you"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Notice.


This Notice does not apply to employment-related personal information collected from California-based employees, job applicants, contractors, or similar individuals. Where noted in this Notice, the CCPA temporarily exempts personal information reflecting a written or verbal business-to-business communication ("B2B personal information") from some its requirements.


15.1 Information We Collect


We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device ("personal information"). Personal information does not include:
