Morris Fuller Benton's Broadway typeface is a classic example of Art Deco typography. Broadway was produced in metal type in 1927, by American Type Founders. In the 1930s, the Portuguese graphic artist, Antonio Moreira Júnior added serifs to its letterforms and marketed it under a new name, most likely motivated by the work of the Dutch designer Dick Dooijes, thad did it before him, in the font Bristol, launched in 1929. The addition of serifs to the original designs proved to create a new and surprising harmony in the letterforms. In this digital adaptation, the design style of Benton and Moreira Júnior are clearly acknowledged, and the serifs have been reviewed .
